Dr. Lehvit Akerman, a specialist in dermatology, was elected to serve as chairman and president of the Israeli Association for Dermatological Surgery. Dr. Ackerman replaces Dr. Baruch Kaplan, who served as chairman of the union for the past five years.

The Association for Dermatological Surgery has existed for 25 years and has over 150 members, doctors, some of whom are full members and some of whom are associate members. The association is a non-profit scientific body.
The full members of the organization are doctors who are members of the Medical Association with a specialist certificate in dermatology and genital medicine, and the accompanying members are members of the Israeli Medical Association, who have an Israeli specialist degree or have specialist status in a profession other than dermatology, who have a special interest in dermatological surgery or a related scientific field.
According to Dr. Ackerman: “I see my entry into the position as an opportunity to bring about a change in the perception of dermatology in order to make the field accessible to the general public, along with striving for excellence and professionalism. I aspire to root my private agenda as a doctor and as a person, within the organization’s principles, when contributing to society and volunteering in the community will be a significant milestone in daily work.”
Dr. Ackerman, a senior physician in the field of dermatology, manages the skin department at the Rothschild HMO in Klalit Health Services. In December of last year, Ackerman launched a professional study program designed for dermatologists, in which she provides training for aesthetic treatments and skin problems. She also manages a variety of studies for Israeli laser companies in areas such as pigmentation, scars, facial tightening and body contouring, and more. In addition, Dr. Ackerman owns a chain of private clinics and was chosen to be the scientific consultant for international brands (La Roche-Posay, Vichy, etc.).
