“That sound is so creepy…”. Listening to it is just like that, in the video, published by ‘Globalalldestinations’ you can hear the noise of the Verrazzano bridge in New York, known in English as the Narrows Bridge, ‘moved’ by the wind. A crackle that triggers comments on social media. “It sounds like my stomach after a spicy dinner” write the users, while someone ventures “help, that’s scary”. The bridge, designed by Robert Moses, connects the two boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island. It takes its name from the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano who first reached the port of New York in 1524. Inaugurated in 1964, it has only one flaw, users on social media comment, “there is a z missing in the license plate and Verrazzano has become Verrazano”. Famous for being the starting point of the Big Apple Marathon, it is also seen in some scenes of the film ‘Saturday Night Fever’.

“The bridge, like skyscrapers, is designed to bend with the wind so they don’t crack or break. It’s doing the best thing,” they comment from Cincinnati. “What shocks me the most is how many people don’t know that this is how a bridge should be built,” they retort. “All engineers here on social media” they conclude by virtually clapping with lots of smiling emoticons.
