The Moroccan Ministry of Health announced the registration of 3 suspected cases of monkeypox in the Kingdom, indicating that the patients are subject to medical observation pending the issuance of the final results of the laboratory analyzes conducted for them.
It noted that it has developed a system to respond quickly to the global alert related to monkeypox during the current period.
Monkeypox infections worsen in Europe
Dozens of injuries have been confirmed in European countries, as well as Australia, Canada and the United States, with most injuries concentrated in Austria, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Sweden.
A vaccine crisis awaits the world
International concerns, especially in European countries, are increasing about the shortage of vaccines against monkeypox, which prompted the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to talk about releasing part of the doses of the Genius vaccine for use in monkeypox cases.
The centers said that there are more than 1,000 doses in the national stockpile, amid expectations from them that the disease will spread rapidly in the coming weeks.
Global health expects more infections
The World Health Organization expected more monkeypox cases to be detected as surveillance expanded in countries where the disease is not usually found.
She indicated that the available information indicates that transmission of infection from one person to another occurs between people who are in close physical contact with cases that show symptoms.
