NHL Unveils Hometown Remix Jerseys for All 32 Teams

Thirty-two NHL teams are stepping onto the ice this season in completely redesigned Hometown Remix uniforms developed alongside Fanatics, introducing a wave of hyperlocal design details, custom lettering, and non-traditional color palettes available across the league.

The collection brings a fresh aesthetic inspired by local culture and architecture to every franchise in the league. Developed over a two-year design window, the launch marks the first full 32-team alternate uniform program created by Fanatics since the company took over as the league’s on-ice outfitter in 2024. The program follows earlier league-wide alternate efforts such as the Adidas-partnered Reverse Retro series, but leans heavily into city-specific storytelling.

Fanatics Design Collaboration and Pricing Details

Working directly with club executives, owners, and equipment managers, the design teams explored multiple creative paths for each market. Fanatics Vice President of Creative Design Dom Fillion noted that the initiative represents the most exciting initiative delivered with league partners since taking over on-ice apparel.

Because of unique production features, retail pricing for Hometown Remix jerseys differs slightly from standard team sweaters. Adult versions feature custom lettering and numbering priced at $275 for premium editions and $500 for authentics matching the exact specifications worn by players on the ice. Unlettered adult premium jerseys start at $224.99 through online retailers.

The collection also includes hoodies, T-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and other Hometown Remix merchandise available through Fanatics and the NHL Shop NYC flagship store. To celebrate the launch, Fanatics and the NHL debuted a hero film titled The Fabric of Your Town, Unlocked, which showcases Hometown Remix jerseys being ceremonially unlocked in different settings and includes a cameo by entertainer and influencer Fanum.

Team-by-Team Local Inspirations Across the League

Individual franchises integrated distinct regional landmarks and historical nods into their new gear. In Boston, the Bruins introduced a Varsity Sweater design that team president Cam Neely and marketing executives spent over a year developing.

Other clubs embraced vintage aesthetics and local pop culture. The Pittsburgh Penguins deployed a pop-art aesthetic honoring Andy Warhol alongside neighborhood details on the hem, while their shoulder patches feature the old igloo arena and the triangle for Three Rivers. The New Jersey Devils released a black-and-red alternate utilizing a simplified logo inspired by their appearance at the 2024 Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium, following an encoded social media teaser featuring the phrase “BLACK PARADE.”

Across the league, unique design features define each market’s look. The Anaheim Ducks wear green, yellow and purple with a “Flying V” on the sleeve from the movie The Mighty Ducks, while a roulette wheel spins on the sleeves of the Vegas Golden Knights jerseys like center ice at T-Mobile Arena. The Los Angeles Kings drew key design inspiration from the city’s street and art culture, and the Calgary Flames’ design serves as a farewell letter to the Saddledome during its final season before the club moves across the street. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild feature an all-black take on their logo, and the Columbus Blue Jackets include navy shoulders with a large embossed star amid ornate filigree scrollwork paying tribute to the Arch City nickname.

On-Ice Debut Schedule and Future Alternate Integration

The league has scheduled Hometown Remix uniforms across 261 games this season, including 19 matchups where both opposing teams wear their respective Remix uniforms.

The Los Angeles Kings will wear their street-art-inspired purple gear for seven Wednesday games, except for February 24 when the franchise retires Anze Kopitar’s number 11. The New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins have slated theirs for ten and twelve appearances, respectively, with the Devils scheduled to wear theirs against rivals such as the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and Philadelphia Flyers.

League officials indicate that fan reception and performance data from this season will guide future design decisions. Brian Jennings, NHL senior executive vice president and chief partnerships and club strategy officer, noted that successful design elements could eventually transition into permanent alternate jerseys or future product lines.

Once we have the ability to collect some insights, what was successful, what wasn’t, what do we want to turn the volume up on … we want to keep the design integrity really, really high and delight and excite fans.
