In El Salvador, the 72nd Miss Universe 2023 pageant took place in which the delegates from different countries fought to keep the crown, however, the crown went to the first Central American to win the pageant, Miss Nicaragua, Sheynnis Palacios.
For the first time in history, a representative from Central America is the winner of the Miss Universe title.
The Semifinalists were: Nicaragua, Spain, Puerto Rico, Namibia, India, Thailand, Venezuela, Chile, Jamaica, United States, Nepal, Peru, Cameroon, Colombia, Pakistan, Australia, Philippines, Portugal, South Africa and El Salvador.
While the top 10 included: Puerto Rico, Thailand, Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, Philippines, El Salvador, Venezuela, Australia and Spain.
For the top 5 they were: Australia, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Thailand and Colombia.
Third place was awarded to Miss Australia, Moraya Wilson, second place to Miss Thailand, Anntonia Porsild and the winner of the pageant, Sheyniss Palacios, the new Miss Universe.
Standing out, the Salvadoran Isabella García-Manzo managed to position herself in the top 10 of the event, being eliminated from the top 5.
