According to sources, Rob Reiner’s daughter, Romy Reiner, found her parents’ bodies, suffering from multiple stab wounds and with their throats slit. The tragic discovery occurred just hours after Rob and Michele Reiner attended a holiday party hosted by Conan O’Brien on the evening of December 13th.
A lifelong family friend revealed that a heated argument took place between Nick and his parents at the party. “They had had an argument at Conan’s holiday party, and Rob had been telling people that they’re scared for Nick and scared that his mental state was deteriorating,” the insider shared. Multiple attendees reportedly witnessed Nick’s increasingly erratic behaviour throughout the evening.

Prior to the murders, Nick Reiner had reportedly been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and sources suggest that his prescribed medications were contributing to his unstable state, causing him to act “erratic and dangerous,” according to reports from TMZ.
Nick Reiner was arrested sunday evening and made his initial court appearance on wednesday. An arraignment is scheduled for January 7,2026,at wich time he is expected to enter a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.
