Nintendo has managed to turn its Switch into one of the most important consoles in history. With 122 million units sold since its launch, the machine has already managed to become the third best-seller in history, only behind PlayStation 2 y Nintendo DS.
Considering that the console has recently celebrated its sixth anniversary, it is foreseeable that the company, sooner rather than later, will take over. Next, we share a good part of the leaks that have been shared lately about this console, which is popularly known as Nintendo Switch 2.
When will it arrive?
Most analysts expect the machine to hit stores between 2023 and 2024. Based on the good sales results that the current Switch is having, and which are expected to improve further in the coming months thanks to the launch of video games such as the highly anticipated ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’, it is foreseeable that the launch will be rushed until next year.
All in all, it would not be strange if Nintendo gave a surprise at the end of 2023. It should be remembered that Nintendo Switch has received a review every two years since 2019. What video games will it have?
Obviously, the machine will be accompanied by a good handful of ‘console seller’ video games to convince the user to make the jump. Possibly, with some new Mario or an improved version of ‘Zelda Tears of the Kingdom’.
It is also not ruled out that the company uses the catalog of consoles like the classic ones as a claim GameCube y Wii, which could reach Nintendo’s online subscription exclusively for the new console. Although this option seems somewhat less likely to us, because it could have a negative impact on a business such as subscriptions, which is capital for the company.
Will you be able to play the games on your Switch?
At the moment, no consistent leak has been shared about it, so it’s hard to know. However, based on what PlayStation and Xbox have done with their latest consoles, which are capable of reading titles from PS4 and Xbox One respectively, the next Switch should be backward compatible with the catalog of the current machine.
