There are some things which cannot be implemented in India. Sitharaman clearly said that there is no democracy in China. On the contrary, India has a value based system.
The Finance Minister on Saturday said India needs economic independence to achieve the status of a developed nation by 2047. He assured that in the near future the country will move from fifth place to third place in the world economy. Criticizing those who compared India with China, Sitharaman said that some things cannot be repeated from them.
The country has to become an economic power
“India must achieve self-reliance in economic matters,” Sitharaman said after unveiling a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Smt. Indira Gandhi College here. The country should become an economic power. The country has dropped from 10th place to fifth place in the global ranking. In a few years we will achieve third place.
The Finance Minister appealed to the students present in the program to contribute to the progress of the country. She said, ‘It is only with the efforts of students like you that our country will become a developed nation by 2047.’
Comparison with China’s growth is not right
Regarding comparing the economic growth in China with that of India, Sitharaman said that it is not right to do so. He said China has made progress for various reasons. These cannot be followed here. Like, there is no democracy in China at all. But, we have civil liberties here. There is freedom of speech. Ours is a value based system.
