Kochi: The High Court has warned against the challenge of ‘I will file a case’. Justice Devan Ramachandran’s warning came after a panchayat secretary responded to a high court lawyer who sought information on the road collapse over the phone. The court was considering a petition related to the collapse of the Aluva-Eparumbavoor road.

Officials should not behave like this. The single bench also warned that the court knows how to file a case and guide such people. The criticism was made without revealing which panchayat secretary responded in this way.

Road test from today

Kochi: The inspection of road works under the Public Works Department will begin on Tuesday. The inspection is to ensure that maintenance is carried out as per the construction contract. Inspections will be conducted on Tuesday in Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki districts.

Four IAS under the direct control of the Minister of Public Works. Officers, eight Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers will lead the inspection. The inspection is based on the instructions of the Chief Minister. Public Works Minister P.A. said that action will be taken against those responsible if any mistake is found.
