Thiruvananthapuram: The nation was shocked by the accident in which a car rammed into the students at Atingal Kallambalam on the national highway. Locals are in the midst of the incident in which a college student died and 20 students were injured. Shrestha M Vijay, a native of Attingal and an MA English student of KTC Arts College, died. He was 22 years old.
Among the injured, one student is in critical condition. A student named Alfia has been admitted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram with serious injuries. The incident happened around 3 pm today. The accident took place when the students were boarding a private bus at the bus stop. The speeding car from Kollam side lost control and hit the back of the bus and then rammed into the students who were standing there.
Three students were hit by the vehicle. Many people were thrown in different directions by the impact of the thunder. Locals immediately rushed the injured to a nearby private hospital. Many injured people have broken bones in their body. Ani, a native of Anchalummood, Kollam, who was driving the car, was taken into police custody.
The owner of the car, Rahim, was also in the car. Meanwhile, two persons were killed in an accident involving a car and a bike in Mele Vettiprath. The deceased have been identified as Saji from Palakkad and Sreejith from Alappuzha. Two people were admitted to the General Hospital with serious injuries. Anish, a native of Palakkad, and Devan, a native of Kattappana, were injured. A car turns a curve and hits two bikes. Both the deceased were on a bike.
