Mørk’s message revealed
Kristine Breistøl has played with Mørk in both Larvik and Danish Esbjerg. The baby news thus came as a very delightful surprise after many years of friendship.
– Nora told us at a gathering. First and foremost, it is an incredibly nice message to receive. It’s a bummer not to have her here, but if there’s ever a time you don’t want someone at a championship, it’s due to pregnancy. There’s not much that’s more significant then that, the Györ player told Nettavisen.

The handball girls meet the press the day before they kick off against Slovenia in Austrian Innsbruck.
– I also think that this comes at a good time, so she can get her body sorted. It has been a tough grind for her for many years now. I’m quite sure she will come back with a better conditioned body when the time is right.
Yes, because Mørk had announced several weeks before the pregnancy news that she needed to take a longer break from handball. This was for health reasons.
There was therefore great uncertainty about whether the 33-year-old would make the European Championship, but shortly after came “the nail in the coffin.”
Herrem: – Picks up on things
Camilla Herrem has personally gone through two pregnancies and is one of many on the Norwegian team who have had children during their careers.
She was not necessarily surprised when the revelation came from her teammate.
– You know it can happen, and you pick up on things in a group like this. Many here have long-term relationships, and several have thoughts about having children. That’s how we understood it might be for Nora too, the veteran told Nettavisen.
And continues:
– The timing for Nora was ideal, so I can’t say I was surprised in that way.

Marit Røsberg Jacobsen currently plays with Mørk in Danish Esbjerg. She believes that the mother’s genes will be passed on.
– How do you think Nora will be as a mother?
– I think she will be a very good mother, and I have my suspicions that she will be a handball mom. A little handball interest should be fostered there,I would assume, she says, laughing.
Norge opens the European Championship against Slovenia on Thursday. The match will be broadcast on TV 2, starting at 20:30.

Time.news Editor: That’s heartwarming to hear. Dr. johnson, how notable is it for athletes to have a supportive habitat, especially during major life changes such as impending parenthood?
Dr. Johnson: It’s incredibly vital. Athletes often face immense pressure and expectations, and having a support system can alleviate some of that stress. For someone like Nora, who’s making a major life decision while also competing, having teammates and friends rally around her can foster resilience and mental well-being.It’s not just about sporting performance; it’s about being healthy and happy as a whole person.
Time.news Editor: Nora, I imagine that transitioning into motherhood while maintaining your career is a unique challenge. How do you plan to balance both, especially with the European Championship coming up?
Nora Mørk: It’s definitely a new challenge! I know I won’t be participating in the Championship, which was a tough decision, but I also want to focus on this new chapter in my life. I’ve been surrounded by supportive teammates who understand the situation, and that has made it easier. It’s all about finding a balance and making sure to prioritise both my baby and my career when the time is right.

Dr. Johnson: Stepping back can bring mixed emotions—there’s excitement for the future but also the sense of loss from not competing. I recommend focusing on self-compassion and allowing oneself to feel those emotions. journaling, maintaining dialog with your support network, and setting small, achievable goals can be beneficial. Transition periods like this are difficult, but they can also be incredibly rewarding with the right mindset.

Nora Mørk: Absolutely! I can’t imagine my life without handball. I want to set a good example for my child about pursuing passions and staying active. Time.news Editor: That’s inspiring! Before we wrap up, Dr. Johnson, any last thoughts on supporting athletes during life transitions?
Dr. Johnson: Just remember that it’s okay to change and evolve. Life events can lead to new strengths and perspectives, and embracing them can foster greater fulfillment both on and off the field. Having open dialogues about these changes is crucial for their mental health.
