North Korea conducted comprehensive tactical exercises for a “nuclear counter-strike” using 600 mm rocket launchers.
North Korea’s Central News Agency indicated that the exercises took place under the supervision of the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un.
The exercises included the use of a warning system designed to operate in conditions of an “extreme nuclear crisis,” command systems for directing a nuclear strike, and launching missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
According to the agency, the missile launchers hit their targets at a distance of 352 km.
The official agency described the exercises as a “warning to enemies” who are taking “escalatory military steps” against North Korea, in reference to recent military maneuvers conducted by the United States in cooperation with South Korea in the region.
