Now Ukrainian children can vacation in Neumünster

by time news

In April, the people of Neumünster ran and hiked around the Einfeld Lake for the Ukraine at the Peace Run of the Neumünster-Holsten Lions Club – now the net proceeds have been handed over. With the money – and another donation – refugee children from the Ukraine are cared for.

Neumünster. Christina and Marco Weingarten had the idea at the breakfast table. Shortly before Easter, the Neumünster couple considered how to help the people fleeing in the Ukraine. “The question was: How do we get money together? That’s when I had the idea for a peace run,” said Christina Weingarten. She and her husband are avid joggers.

Marco Weingarten was impressed and presented the idea at the next club evening of the Neumünster-Holsten Lions Club – and met with immediate approval there as well. The concept and organization of the Neumünster peace run was completed within a few days. The canoe club, the Friedrich Ebert Hospital and other partners were involved.
