NRBC Bank celebrated Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 104th birthday and National Children’s Day.

On Sunday (March 17) on the occasion of the day, Iftar materials and books on Bangabandhu and Liberation War were distributed among the poor, orphans, street children and children and teenagers through various branches and sub-branches across the country including the head office.

Parliamentarian Zakir Hossain Sarkar of Rangpur’s Mithapukur and NRBC Bank Chairman Parvez Tamal and bank officials were present in these programs.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary and National Children’s Day, a drawing competition and cultural program was organized with children and teenagers at Mithapukur Upazila Parishad Auditorium. Apart from awarding prizes to the winners, the participating children and teenagers were given books on Bangabandhu’s biography, freedom and liberation war.

On the occasion, local MP Zakir Hossain Sarkar said that if Bangabandhu was not born, independent Bangladesh would not have been born. It was due to his visionary leadership that Bangladesh gained independence by defeating the Pakistani invaders and breaking through the nags of exploitation. This activity of NRBC Bank to inform the children and teenagers about the history of Bangabandhu, Liberation War and Independence is commendable.

Chairman of NRBC Bank Parvez Tamal said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the founder of Bangladesh and the father of the Bengali nation. The freedom brought by him will be truly meaningful when every people of Bengal will be economically self-sufficient. NRBC Bank is working to build the Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu’s dream. NRBC Bank is providing banking services at the doorsteps of people in remote areas with the aim of building a poverty-free, hunger-free Bengal. NRBC Bank is disbursing micro-loans at low interest without collateral to ensure employment of people at home and implement urbanization programs in villages.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, iftar was distributed among the orphans, poor and street children of various orphanages across the country including the capital. At the same time, a special doa mahfil was held to pray for the souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members.
