US singer Mariah Carey (52) has reached number one in the US singles chart for the fourth year in a row with her Christmas classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. “Like Santa Claus going on his annual sleigh ride, Mariah Carey returns to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Songs,” reported Billboard magazine.
The Christmas hit from 1994 climbed into the top ten of the US charts for the first time in 2017. In 2019, the song rose to the number one spot for the first time, hitting the top spot every December since.
The “Queen of Christmas” Carey is currently also dominating the German charts. According to GfK Entertainment, she has been in first place in the single hit list for two weeks in a row with “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. For the eleventh time in the 28-year history of the Christmas carol, the singer is number one in the official German weekly single charts. (dpa)
