Today, Saturday, the Amman Public Prosecutor arrested a resident of a care home for the elderly in the Juwada area of Amman, a center affiliated to the Ministry of Social Progress, in connection with the fire that broke out yesterday, Friday, and caused it. 7 died and injured more than 60 others.
A video captured by a surveillance camera inside the center showed that one of the inmates set fire to the couch, which caused the disaster.
according to the sources, “the arrested prisoner is in his sixties and is of Jordanian nationality,” indicating that he will be transferred to a psychiatric center to assess his psychological condition.
The sources indicated that 6 other people who were working at the center are being investigated in relation to the incident.
