Bloomsburg Wrestling Team Gains Valuable Experience at NWCA National Duals

Bloomsburg University’s wrestling team showcased resilience and individual brilliance at the NWCA National duals, facing a challenging field of Division I opponents including Drexel, CSU Bakersfield, Northern Iowa, Ohio, and Campbell. Heavyweight Dominance Leads the Way

Mason Rebuck, wrestling in the 285-pound class, emerged as a standout performer for Bloomsburg, finishing the weekend with an notable 4-1 record. Rebuck consistently delivered in the final matches of each dual, proving his ability to perform under pressure. His victories included a 6-3 sudden-victory decision against Mason Cover of CSU Bakersfield on Friday, a win by fall against Northern Iowa’s Grant Stromberg at 3:48, an emphatic 11-0 major decision over Wyatt Schmitt of Ohio, and a 2-0 decision over Sawyer VanRider of Campbell.

Raines and Chase Secure Crucial wins

At 197 pounds, Coy Raines delivered a strong performance, achieving a 3-1 record. Raines secured Bloomsburg’s sole win against Drexel, narrowly defeating Ibrahim Ameer with a 9-8 decision.
