Bronx Homicide: Rideshare Driver Found Shot in Apparent Road Rage Incident

New York City began the year with a tragic homicide in the Bronx, as police investigate the fatal shooting of a rideshare driver following what appears to be a dispute stemming from a minor traffic accident. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator(s).

Police are actively searching for the gunman responsible for the death of Issa Isac, a 55-year-old African immigrant, whose body was discovered inside his vehicle on Morris Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx.

Details of the Incident

The incident unfolded just before 7 a.m. when firefighters responding to a vehicle fire discovered Isac deceased inside his Blue Toyota Rav 4. Initial investigations suggest the shooting followed a fender-bender.

Surveillance video captured a crucial sequence of events. The footage shows Isac attempting to reverse his vehicle when a man approached the driver’s side window and began striking it. Isac then accelerated, and two individuals were observed running after his car. Investigators believe Isac was shot by another driver during this pursuit.

“The circumstances surrounding this incident are deeply concerning,” stated a senior official. “We are pursuing all leads to bring the responsible parties to justice.”

Reward Offered for Information

An organization representing livery drivers has announced a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of those involved in the killing. This demonstrates the community’s commitment to ensuring the safety of drivers who provide essential transportation services.

Ongoing Investigation

The New York City Police Department is currently working to identify the suspects. Detectives are reviewing additional surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
