Nylstar board urges company to meet to ‘find solutions’

by time news

The textile Nylstar of Blanes announced on Tuesday the withdrawal of the Employment Regulation File (ERO) which entailed the dismissal of 24 workers.

The last negotiation meeting was supposed to be held this Wednesday, however, after the company’s decision, this meeting has taken place, despite the fact that the committee has concentrated on defining the line to follow from now on. The workers still do not know the reasons that have led the company to backtrack on its positioning. The committee has requested a meeting from the management next Monday, January 16, because according to the president of the committee, Xavier Cherino, “we want to look to move forward and find solutions to the difficult situation in which the company is immersed». Cherino considers that the possible solutions are compatible with maintaining the current workforce of 84 workers.

“Explore alternatives”

Through a statement, the committee explains that the company, through a letter, “expressed its willingness to explore other possibilities that could provide a solution to the current situation”. For this reason, the social side has withdrawn the concentration scheduled for this Thursday at the door of the factory and “opens a dialogue with the management in order to explore these alternatives”.

The committee is summoned to an appearance at the Parliament of Catalonia next January 19 to look for alternatives to the industrial company project. According to details, the shareholder of the company Alfonso Cirera is also summoned to this appearance.
