“Undine”, the legendary mermaid, lies on her back in the water, her eyes closed. The weight of her body seems to be borne entirely by the water. A feeling of weightlessness arises. The Berlin painter Iris Schomaker has managed to depict that moment when the mind comes to rest. In the next motif, however, the bather wears an all-covering face mask in the tub, an exaggerated hallmark of the corona pandemic, and the water is shaped like prismatic ice surfaces.
