Official Handover of Sri Lankan Air Force Headquarters Building to Police: Exchange of Documents and Key Officials Present

The building used as the headquarters of the Sri Lankan Air Force has been officially handed over to the police.

The event was held yesterday (15.03.2024) under the leadership of Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne, Ministry of Defence.

The 12-storey building, which has been used as the headquarters of the Sri Lankan Air Force for nearly two decades, is situated on a 3-acre plot of land and will serve as the police headquarters in the future.

Exchange of documents

Official handover and acceptance documents were signed by Air Force Chief General Air Marshal Manoj Kappettipola, Police Headquarters Administrative Director Senior Superintendent of Police Kalam Thilakarathna and others.

After that, relevant documents have been exchanged between the Air Force Commander and the Inspector General of Police.

Public Security Ministry Secretary Vyani Gunathilakka, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Utheni Rajapaksa, Inspector General of Police Deshabandhu Thennakone, Air Force and Police High Officers have attended the event.
