The Buckeyes demonstrated notable individual and team growth throughout the competition,highlighted by several career-best and season-high performances.
Vetter Shines in All-Around Victory
Tory Vetter delivered a standout performance, winning the all-around competition with a season-high score of 39.525. Vetter also achieved personal bests on both floor (9.900) and uneven bars (9.900), tying for first place on each event. Her consistent excellence provided a crucial anchor for the Buckeyes throughout the meet.
Floor Exercise a Highlight for Ohio State
Ohio state dominated on the floor, posting a season-high team score of 49.375,surpassing Michigan’s performance on the event. In addition to Vetter’s winning score, rylee Guevara recorded a season-high 9.875 in the leadoff position,setting a positive tone for the rotation. Notably,Mary Green made her debut in the floor lineup,adding depth to the team’s capabilities.
Beam and Bars Showcase Consistency and Growth
The Buckeyes continued to impress on the beam, achieving a total score of 49.350. Natalie Martin recorded her first 9.900 of her Buckeye career,tying for fifth overall and leading the team on the event. Cameron Smith (9.875) and Courtney McCann (9.850) also contributed season-high scores, demonstrating the team’s overall strength.
On uneven bars, Ohio state achieved a season-best 49.050. Ava Jackson (9.850) and Sadie Jane Berry (9.775) joined Vetter in achieving career-best scores on the event, showcasing the team’s increasing skill and confidence.
