The Ministry of Oil announced, on Monday, the investment of 1,250 cubic meters of gas in three governorates, while indicating that the government contributed to accelerating the implementation of many vital projects with economic and environmental dimensions.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Basem Mohammed Khudair, told the (INA): “The ministry and all its companies are keen to support all development projects in the country to achieve optimal investment of its oil and gas wealth, use clean energy, and provide more job opportunities for the national workforce, in addition to increasing the volume of investments in the oil and energy sector, especially in developing infrastructure, exploring and investing in gas, and closing the file of flared gas, as well as increasing production capacities, improving the conditions and environment of oil work, and qualifying oil cadres by acquiring international skills and certificates to manage the oil industry with the best performance in line with global development.”
Khader added, “The government support and follow-up of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil contributed to accelerating the implementation of projects, as the government and the Ministry of Oil are proud of completing and implementing many vital projects with great economic and environmental dimensions.”
He added that “the projects included implementing gas investment contracts with the international company Total with a capacity of 600 million standard cubic feet per day, a gas investment project in Nasiriyah with a capacity of 200 million standard cubic feet per day, and investing in the Nahr Bin Omar field with a capacity of 150 million cubic feet per day, in addition to the associated gas processing project in the Halfaya field to invest the entire quantities of associated gas produced with a quantity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day.”
