In a strategic move to anchor its artificial intelligence ambitions in Europe, Oliver Wyman entrusts its AI France division to Jessyn Katchera, a veteran of both top-tier consulting and Silicon Valley’s most influential tech giants. Katchera returns to the firm to lead a newly established Data & Analytics (DNA) team, tasked with transforming France into a primary hub for AI excellence.
The appointment marks a homecoming for Katchera, whose career has spanned the intersection of high finance, global operations, and digital innovation. By placing the French AI initiative under his leadership, Oliver Wyman aims to move beyond theoretical AI applications toward the deployment of scalable, integrated tools and “agents” that can generate immediate operational impact for a diverse client base.
This expansion is not a standalone experiment but an extension of a global blueprint. Since 2017, Oliver Wyman has established 11 DNA offices worldwide, including major hubs in India and Great Britain. The firm currently employs more than 600 experts in AI and data science, having executed over 300 projects to date.
Building a Hub of AI Excellence
Katchera’s primary mandate is to build a localized capability in France that is deeply integrated with the firm’s strategic teams. The goal is to create a center of expertise capable of navigating the “AI revolution” with an entrepreneurial spirit, focusing on concrete solutions rather than conceptual frameworks.
To achieve this, Katchera is initiating a recruitment drive to bring approximately 20 specialized data scientists into the fold in the short term. The firm is seeking profiles across all seniority levels, emphasizing a rare combination of deep technical expertise and the “agility” required to understand and solve complex customer business issues.

« This project to build a capability in France was very attractive. This center of expertise, very integrated with our strategic teams, will make it possible to deploy concrete, scalable and integrated tools and agents, to develop concrete solutions using AI and generate operational impact for our clients. We want to be a key player in the AI revolution in France. It’s a great challenge with an entrepreneurial dimension. »
Beyond staffing, the new DNA pole will serve as a critical lever for several sectoral verticals. Katchera will specifically focus on financial services—a domain where he possesses deep historical expertise—and the CTT (Communications, Technology, and Telecommunications) practice, which the partner describes as being in a phase of “very high velocity.”
A Pedigree of Consulting and Sizeable Tech
Katchera’s trajectory provides a blueprint for the kind of multidisciplinary leadership Oliver Wyman seeks for its AI division. A graduate of Centrale Supélec (2008) with a master’s degree in finance from HEC Paris (2010), he began his career as a strategy consultant in Paris.
His subsequent decade was spent navigating the world’s most competitive professional environments. He transitioned to Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2012, where he worked across offices in Paris, Sydney, Chicago, and Montreal, eventually becoming a project leader within the Financial Services and Technology Advantage practice.
The shift from consulting to operational leadership began in San Francisco, where Katchera spent two years (2016–2018) leading new markets for Square, the fintech powerhouse founded by Jack Dorsey. This was followed by a tenure at Google’s headquarters, where he first managed global strategy and operations for SMB advertising before ascending to the role of COO of global HR operations, overseeing a workforce of 180,000 employees.
Most recently, Katchera returned to France to join the executive committee of Carrefour, where he served as the executive director of e-commerce and innovation from September 2023 through November 2024.

The Strategic Roadmap: Agentics and Value Chains
The integration of the DNA team into the CTT practice arrives at a time of significant growth for the division. The practice, which currently consists of ten dedicated partners, has recently expanded through external recruitment, including the addition of Charles-Étienne Bost from Kearney.

Katchera has identified three core themes that will define the French division’s focus: agentics, process transformation, and the reinvention of the value chain. “Agentics”—the development of autonomous AI agents capable of executing complex workflows—represents the next frontier in productivity, moving AI from a conversational tool to an operational actor.
In an environment that Katchera describes as “particularly complex to navigate on many levels,” the firm intends to use these AI capabilities to help clients dismantle inefficient legacy processes and rebuild their value chains from the ground up.
As the DNA France team begins its recruitment phase, the next milestone will be the integration of these new data science profiles into the firm’s existing strategic workflows. The success of the initiative will likely be measured by the number of “concrete, scalable” tools deployed across the financial services and technology sectors in the coming year.
