Nielsen published a forecast based on data collected on countries’ performance in global and continental competitions, and predicted a good result for Israel.

According to the forecast, Israel will win 6 medals, and half of them will be gold, one medal will be silver and two more will be bronze. This will be enough for 42nd place in the overall ranking. India and Greece will also have six medals each at the Olympics, Nielsen predicted.

According to the virtual Paris Olympics medal table released by the company, the United States is projected to win the Olympics with 123 medals in Paris – 39 gold, 37 silver and 47 bronze.

This is the same number of gold medals as in Tokyo three years ago, but 10 more medals overall.

Nielsen predicts China will win 89 medals (the same as Tokyo), Great Britain 66 and host France 55, up 22 from the previous Olympics.

Australia, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and South Korea make up the rest of the top ten in the virtual medal table.

The table is a statistical model based on individual and team performance in past competitions, including the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Cups.

Let us recall that at the 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021 due to the pandemic), Israel won 4 medals – two gold and two bronze.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that athletes from the Russian Federation and Belarus were not allowed to attend the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics.
