The stone-pelting of the Olympique Lyonnais coaches, during the players’ and supporters’ journey to Marseille, has not finished making people talk. These incidents, which seriously injured OL coach Fabio Grosso, were particularly shocking, rightly so as the videos are violent. This Monday evening, the Lyon club published a new video in which we can see the journey of the bus from inside it.

And one thing is certain: the players’ and staff’s bus could not have escaped the troublemakers. Escorted by several police cars, sirens on, the bus followed the indicated trajectory, until finding itself in the middle of a crowd of people. The first jets of projectiles came quickly, and aimed directly at the windows of the bus. It was following these projectiles that a window broke and Fabio Grosso was hit just above the left eye. An injury that required ten stitches.

The staff and players’ bus is not the only one to have been targeted. Several supporters’ buses were also attacked on the road leading to the stadium. Two people were arrested for these incidents. An investigation into “intentional violence with weapons” was launched. Aged 29 and 50, the two men do not deny the facts but claim to have fought back after being the target of projectiles. They risk up to three years in prison.
