Omicron | Omecron fear; Guidelines for International Passengers in effect

by time news
New Delhi: The Central Government has revised the guidelines issued to international air travelers with effect from today in the wake of fears of a new variant of the Kovid (Covid 19) virus, the Omicron virus.

Those arriving in the country are required to provide travel information for the last two weeks on the Air Convenience Portal. At the same time, the affidavit must include the RTPCR negative result taken within 72 hours.

The guidelines also say that action will be taken against those found to have provided false information on the portal. They will be allowed to leave the airport only after receiving the test results.

If the test turns out to be negative, you must stay home for seven days on the quarantine. Contact with others should be made only if the test on the eighth day gives a negative result.

Samples of those who test positive will be subjected to genetic stratification. Special monitoring system will be set up for them. The same conditions apply to those arriving in the country by ship.

Although the ICMR recommends that there be no panic in the absence of clear evidence of Omicon’s flammability, the government is cautious. States are advised to tighten controls and tighten surveillance in areas where Kovid cases are on the rise.

RTPCR testing should be efficient and samples confirmed by Kovid should be subjected to genetic stratification. The main recommendations are to keep the test positivity rate below five per cent. While the ICMR says that those who have been vaccinated do not have a serious infection, there are still tens of millions of people in the country who have not received a single dose of the vaccine.
