The state government has banned Christmas and New Year celebrations in Odisha due to the threat of omega.
A statement issued on the occasion said that a maximum of 50 people were allowed to attend the church’s return service and that New Year’s celebrations were not allowed in hotels, clubs and auditoriums.
The Odisha government has also announced a statewide ban on celebrations other than weddings and rallies and cultural events until the 2nd of this month. It is noteworthy that so far 4 people have been diagnosed with the omega virus in the state.
