Bangalore: The Bangalore Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said it has not been able to trace the 10 international travelers who arrived in Bengaluru from African countries. The release comes after the first two cases in the country in Karnataka were confirmed by the Kovid-19 variant Omikron (b1.1.529). The Karnataka Health Minister also confirmed that the address of the foreigners in Bangalore could not be traced.

BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta said health workers were still trying to locate the foreigners. He said tracking is an ongoing process and they are continuing it. He added that if there is no response to the phone call, there are precise procedures to find them.

Karnataka Health Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that 57 passengers have arrived in Bangalore from South Africa after Omikron’s confirmation that the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation could not find the addresses of 10 of the 57 passengers. K. Sudhakar said. He added that their mobile phones were switched off and their address could not be ascertained.

In Karnataka, Omikron, the Kovid-19 variant, was first confirmed in two men in the country. Love Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Department, said in a press conference that the 66- and 46-year-olds had only mild symptoms. The 46-year-old doctor, who hails from Bangalore, was diagnosed with the virus.

The second person confirmed by Omikron is a South African citizen. Sixty – six years old, he came to India with a Kovid negative certificate. Isolation was prescribed after Kovid confirmed the test. A week later, he returned to Dubai with a negative certificate from a private lab, officials said.
