The Research Group on Afrocentric Education (Grupeafro) of the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (Unilab)/ Campus dos Malês holds the II seminar on the theme Cheikh Anta Diop’s Birth Centenary. The event consists of four rounds of monthly conversations, with the fourth edition taking place on 11/29, entitled Cheikh Anta Diop and the role of women in African societies. The circle will feature the participation of professors Rutte Faizah and Nini Kemba Nayo and will be mediated by professor Ricardo Benedicto.
The event will be broadcast on the Grupeafro YouTube channel, starting at 6:45 pm, in this link. It is not necessary to register to participate in the event, which is open to all interested parties.

The Group is linked to projects developed by the Institute of Humanities and Letters (IHL), at the Malês Campus, in São Francisco do Conde/BA, in partnership with the Research Department of the Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies (Proppg/Unilab). It was created in 2017 and aims to investigate, create and develop Afro-centered models of education. The Group’s meetings and text discussions have taken place every fortnight since its founding.
