Ashot Ghulyan, the chairman of the “Artsakh-France” friendship circle of the Artsakh Republic Parliament and the members of the circle welcomed the resolution adopted by the French Senate on January 17 with a letter of thanks.
The letter states:
“Dear Mr. Senator
We feel deeply for the efforts that you and the leaders of the French Senate faction have made in 2023. for the protection of the rights of the people of Artsakh forcibly displaced from their historical homeland in September, reaffirming the high level of fraternal friendship and special relations between the Armenian and French peoples.
We also highly appreciate the consistency and care that your deputies of the Senate and the National Assembly of the French Republic have shown in previous years, standing in support of the Armenians of Artsakh who were subjected to aggression by Azerbaijan, the focus of which will certainly be in 2020. It was the resolution about the need to recognize the Republic of Artsakh after the disastrous 44-day war.
The important emphases that were included in the resolution adopted by the Senate on January 17, to condemn Azerbaijan’s armed aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh, to prevent any attempt to violate the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and aggression, to demand guarantees of the right of return of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan, Condemning the arbitrary arrests of the political leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh and demanding their immediate release and other important provisions are very relevant today and we are sure that France, the torchbearer of the values of freedom, equality and fraternity, will continue its continuous support to the Armenian people who are at risk of a new genocide. efforts.
