On May 14, the appeal of 165 municipalities of the country against the imposition of the burial fee will be heard in the Council of State, as announced by the president of KEDE, the mayor of Ampelokipi – Menemeni Lazaros Kyrizoglou, during the board meeting at noon on Wednesday.

“I think that for the first time in history, so many municipalities have appealed against a decision of the state. There would have been possibly more Municipalities, but because the deadline for the right to appeal expired on February 10, several new Municipal administrations did not make it,” noted Mr. Kyrizoglou.
At the same time, he referred to the multi-law bill that is under consultation and is headed for a vote. “KEDE, not only on this bill, but also on other bills that concern us, will cooperate with the government and give its opinions. Where he agrees he will state it and where he disagrees he will also state it. It will be against any self-governing action or act that affects it”, Mr. Kyrizoglou emphasized and referred to an article, according to which the method of payment and return of the revenue from fines for arbitrary construction changes, “excluding” the local first and second grade self-government. Specifically, until today, these fines were paid 50% to the Green Fund, 25% to the Municipality and 25% to the Region, while in the specific article it is provided for the payment of 75% to the Green Fund and 25% to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
