On the road with the DS 3 between orange groves and monasteries

by time news

Getting around in an electric car means enjoying relaxed, silent driving, as well as being powerful and effective. You also get around environmental restrictions and high fuel prices. But if, in addition, you do it in a model like the new DS 3 E-Tense, comfort and taste for every detail are guaranteed. And we can’t think of a better place than Valencia and its surroundings to get the most out of a model that blends in with any environment and road.

We begin our route in the center of Valencia, walking its streets without any impediment thanks to the ‘0 emissions’ label and without any headaches to park and enjoy a walk through the seaport, visit the City of Arts and Sciences or even lose yourself wandering the streets and discover the Lonja de la Seda, the Central Market or the Micalet. The plans are endless.

For this, the DS 3 E-Tense is the perfect urbanite. Its small dimensions, its agility and its short turning radius allow you to move with skill, comfort and safety. Although the latter is assisted by the driving aids that are included as standard: active lane keeping aid, reading speed signs, automatic emergency braking up to 85 km/h and Visio Park 2. The latter, one of the most interesting , offers parking assistance with a 360-degree vision.

Surrounded by luxury finishes and enveloping seats made with an innovative high-density foam -they can be heated, with massage (lumbar) and electric (longitudinal adjustment, height, inclination, lumbar)-, we head towards the Albufera Natural Park . Nature in its purest state and disconnection is what you find in this wonderful place, so we can’t think of a better companion than an electric, silent and respectful with the environment.

The DS 3 E-Tense delivers 156 CV and 260 Nm, more than enough for day-to-day and traveling. Its power allows you to get out of everyday situations without agility; and its non-existent noise allow a trip to be most pleasant. And you no longer have to be afraid of autonomy. The DS 3 E-Tense reaches up to 404 km -and more than 500 in urban conditions-, and can be charged at 100 kW in direct current (10 to 80% in 30 minutes) and 11 kW in alternating current (0 to 100% in 5 hours and 45 minutes).

We will continue our route to Simat de Valldigna, a town that ‘hides’ one of the most beautiful monasteries in the entire community with a perfect environment for lovers of hiking. So parking and visiting the Royal Monastery of Santa María de la Valldigna, a religious construction with 8 centuries of life, will be a mandatory stop for anyone visiting Valencia. Other points of interest will be El Perellonet, with long beaches without the crowds of the center; or the municipalities of Sueca and Cullera, with a great heritage, museums and particular gastronomy with which to delight. Although if something will catch your attention during the route it will be the fields full of orange trees. And it is that if there is something that identifies the landscape of Valencia, it is, without a doubt, this stamp.

Finally, we cannot forget to highlight two systems that have made this trip (even more) comfortable and safe. Its infotainment system, available on a large 10.3-inch high-definition central screen, intuitive and very easy to navigate thanks to intelligent voice recognition; and the ‘head-up display’, which projects essential information in front of your eyes, so you don’t take your eyes off what’s important: the road.
