It’s no secret – in recent weeks, Chelsea have been chasing Wesley Popana, the Leicester City stopper, for quite a while, and now they are very close to completing the deal. Many reports in Europe say that the Foxes have given the green light to the transfer of the player, who is expected to soon join Thomas Tuchel’s staff and strengthen the defensive unit.
Earlier this week, Leicester rejected an improved offer sent by Chelsea for the 21-year-old stopper, but in recent days a breakthrough in negotiations was achieved, and after sending a third offer, the Blues managed to secure the agreement of the Foxes.
Since signing for Leicester in 2020, Popana has participated in 37 Premier League games, when last year he missed a lot of time due to a serious leg injury, an injury he sustained during the warm-up game against Villarreal. Now anyway, he will arrive at the second stop in England and is expected to play at Stamford Bridge.
