One dead, one injured in mall shooting

A late Friday afternoon shooting at a shopping center in Malmö, southern Sweden, left one dead and one injured, police said. “We believe the immediate danger is over,” a police spokeswoman said. The police announced that they had arrested a person suspected of having fired, without giving any details on his profile or the reasons for the attack.

According to regional health authorities, the two injured people are a man and a woman, the latter being in serious condition. The state of gravity in which the second person was was not specified. According to testimonies collected by local media, a person opened fire randomly on people present in the mall, information that the police have not confirmed.

In July, the city of Copenhagen in Denmark and located about thirty kilometers from Malmö, was also the scene of a shooting in a shopping center, which left three people dead.
