OnePlus and Oppo are planning to exit the European market

by time news

According to reports coming from China, there is a rather dramatic change in the manufacturer’s marketing plans Oppo and its sub-brand OnePlus. According to the same reports, the days of those brands in important countries in Western Europe are nearing their end, with Ofo and One Plus planning to leave England, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

The reasons for the decision, according to the same sources, are related to the drop recorded in the sales of Ofo’s devices in those countries during the past year. It hasn’t been a particularly successful year for any of the smartphone makers, but Oppo devices saw a particularly significant drop of 39 percent in the last quarter of 2022, compared to the same quarter last year. The marketing and distribution costs of Oppo and One Plus, according to the same reports, are simply no longer profitable for the company.

However, Man Plus also denies the report. “One Plus will not leave the European market and will maintain a stable presence in these markets,” according to the company’s official response. “One Plus will continue to invest in Europe and launch more innovative products and solutions for its users.”

Opo also clarifies that “the European market has always been one of our most important”, and that “Opo will continue to focus on customer needs and launch innovative products and services”.
