OnePlus launched its OnePlus 16 flagship smartphone in China, introducing a massive 9,000 mAh battery, a 200-megapixel camera system, and a 165Hz display alongside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.
The device breaks conventional smartphone battery limits by packing a 9,000 mAh power cell—a substantial leap over the 7,300 mAh capacity found in the OnePlus 15. That massive battery pairs with 100W wired SuperVOOC fast charging and 50W wireless charging support to manage the energy demands of high-end hardware.
OnePlus 16 Uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip
Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 runs on Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip built on a 2-nanometer process. Memory configurations range from 12GB to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, paired with internal storage scaling up to 1TB.
Visual output is handled by a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED 4th Gen Oriental display developed jointly with BOE, pushing a resolution of 2,772 x 1,272 pixels. While standard navigation maintains a 165Hz refresh rate, compatible games can trigger an elevated 185Hz refresh rate to maintain smooth motion. The screen also reaches a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and includes dedicated eye protection modes.
Rear Camera Module Features 200-Megapixel Sensor
The square rear camera module houses a primary 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 sensor featuring an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization, capable of supporting up to 120x digital zoom. Accompanying the main sensor is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.6 aperture providing 3x optical zoom.
Low-light performance is backed by Oppo’s LUMO imaging technology. For selfies and video calls, the front cutout equips a 50-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
