The three- and four-time MLAs were currently receiving pensions for all terms. Some former MLAs are receiving lakhs of rupees in this manner.

Under the new decision, former MLAs will now get a monthly pension of around Rs 75,000. No matter how many times you become an MLA, you will get a single pension. There are people in Punjab who get a pension of Rs 3.50 lakh to Rs 5.25 lakh every month. The AAP had demanded ‘one MLA, one pension’ while in opposition.
