Todeva was the only regional governor who dared to dismantle the monument to the Soviet occupiers

“The Atlantic Council of Bulgaria accepts with bewilderment the decision of the caretaker government to replace Mrs. Vyara Todeva as the regional governor of Sofia”. This was published on their Facebook page by the Atlantic Council of Bulgaria.

“Mrs. Todeva was the only regional governor who dared to request and carry out the dismantling of the monument to the Soviet occupiers. Her last decision was to renew the dismantling of the scandalous Soviet monument and the other figures, as well as the high pedestal glorifying the foreign occupation of our Motherland. She also decreed the removal of the “thank you” inscription to the Soviet Army on behalf of the Bulgarian people, which was a mockery of Bulgarian historical memory,” the publication also says.

The Atlantic Council of Bulgaria insists that the new regional governor, Mr. Stefan Arsov, should continue the case of Mrs. Todeva by finally clearing the Prince’s Garden to its original appearance.

“The true Euro-Atlantic orientation of any government is proven not by declarative intentions, but by actions. The removal of Soviet monuments and symbols from Bulgaria is an action that particularly acutely affects the interests of Moscow and the fifth column here, and this is the truest test for any government whether it really works to break the vicious Russian addictions,” added the Atlantic Council of Bulgaria.

Yesterday, the caretaker government of Dimitar Glavchev replaced the regional governors.

After the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the government press office announced that 6 regional governors had been replaced.

Among them is the regional governor of Sofia. The post previously held by Vyara Todeva goes to Stefan Arsov.

One of the last decisions that Vyara Todeva took as the regional governor of Sofia was to resume the dismantling of the Monument to the Soviet Army.
