During the Pongal ceremony held at the Governor’s House, Governor RN Ravi, who used to be Tamil Nadu, called the OPS EPS who were sitting separately during the banquet and made them sit at the same table.
The Pongal festival was celebrated with grandiose traditional dance and art performances at the Governor’s House, Chennai. Governor RN Ravi felicitated the artists who participated in the artistic programs at the function.
Speaking at that time, Governor RN Ravi said, “Pongal festival is the proud festival of Tamils. This festival has been celebrated with enthusiasm for thousands of years. Pongal festival emphasizes culture and our heroism through jallikattu. Today, when traditional functions were celebrated at the Governor’s House, this Governor’s House was like a small *Tamil Nadu*,” he said.
While the Tamil Nadu government logo was omitted from the governor’s Pongal festival invitation, the banner erected on the stage of the festival had the Tamil Nadu government logo and the Indian government logo, with the name Tamil Nadu on it.
Also, after the Pongal ceremony, the chief invitees and judges were seated with the Governor. At that time, the Governor hosted a banquet by seating AIADMK’s Edappadi Palanichamy and O. Panneerselvam at the same table. This caused quite a stir among his volunteers.
