According to party sources, co-coordinator Edappadi Palanisamy will issue a key statement against O. Panneer Selvam, who has lost control of the party. The AIADMK suffered a major defeat in the recent urban local elections. AIADMK volunteers, who have been plagued by a series of defeats, have been urging the AIADMK-AIADMK alliance to come together and Sasikala and Dinakaran to come to the AIADMK. Recently, the Theni district AIADMK passed a resolution that Sasikala and Dinakaran should be brought into the AIADMK without any conditions and handed it over to AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam. This was followed by a commotion in the AIADMK. Moreover, AIADMK leaders across Tamil Nadu are raising their voices in support of Sasikala. Sasikala, on the other hand, has been touring the southern districts for the past two days.
Meanwhile, party coordinator O. Panneerselvam’s brother O. Raja met Sasikala and took a photo with Sasikala. Seeing this, Edappadi Palanisamy told O. Panneerselvam that O. Raja would be relieved of all responsibilities. It was also announced that Theni District Literary Team Secretary Murugesan, Theni District Fishermen’s Division Secretary Vaigai Karuppuji and Cuddalore City Revolutionary Council Secretary Sethupathi would be removed from all responsibilities, including basic membership. It was also insisted that none of the party siblings should have any contact with those expelled from the party. Murugesan, who was the secretary of Theni district literary team at the time, was expelled from the party. He met O. Panneerselvam in person and gave an explanation for his meeting with Sasikala and demanded that he rejoin the party.
