Regarding the production focused on the Brazilian MMA fighter, Perez was part of a script room made up of black directors led by director and also screenwriter Marton Olympio (who was previously at AIC).

“Anderson Silva’s story is similar to many other Brazilian stories. It is the journey of formation of a global athlete, a pop icon. But it is also the story of Aunt Edith, Uncle Benedito, Dayane and all those who give us strength and support to win the battles that arise along the way”, he says.

Perez was selected for the Netflix screenwriter development laboratory and the Globo/FLUP Black Narrative Laboratory, both in 2020. He studied Journalism at PUC-SP and the University of Coimbra. He is co-director, with Renato Terra, of the documentaries “Uma Noite em 67” (2010), “Eu Sou Carlos Imperial” (2016) and “Narciso em Férias” (2020), selected for the Venice Festival and starring Caetano Veloso.
