Orléans: a “dangerous” detainee actively sought after his escape

Wanted notices have been sent to all police stations in France. A dangerous inmate, initially imprisoned at the Orléans Penitentiary Center (Loiret), escaped on Friday after being transferred to hospital to undergo an operation, according to information from our colleagues Figaro.

This 30-year-old had been temporarily transferred to the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of the same town, for surgery. Despite the presence of security forces securing his room, he managed to escape. According to a union source interviewed by our colleagues, the detainee was indeed suffering from medical problems and therefore did not simulate in order to be transferred to the hospital and have a chance of escape.

A flagrant investigation was immediately opened. The Territorial Directorate of the Judicial Police (DTPJ) of Orléans was seized, as well as the Central Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) of Loiret. Of French nationality and of North African origin, this detainee considered “dangerous” by the authorities was actively sought this Saturday. He is likely to have traveled to the Lyon region, where he was born and where his family resides.
