Do a lot of respect to ORT Yad Leibowitz High School in Netanya, which was crowned the High School Football League champion last Thursday. Coach Sasha Feldman’s players won the title in a super convincing way, when they defeated Kfar Galim 0: 6 in the final game held at the Racer field in Be’er Sheva and lifted the trophy at the end.
The undisputed star of the game was Idan Giorno (Toklomati), the son of former Maccabi Netanya player Tony Toklomati, who played briefly for the team in the 2003/4 season and was expelled from Israel in one of the episodes that upset Israeli football, when it turned out he was lying about his age.
Giorno celebrated a hat-trick in the final game, Idan Burns added a double and Adam Mahmid completed the six that gave Netanya the title. Veteran coach Sasha Feldman, who led Yad Leibowitz to the impressive achievement and by the way received a beautiful gift in honor of his birthday, said: “I’m glad the guys made it easy for me today.
