National Transport Service Joins OSL Network, Optimizing Frankfurt Cargo Capacity

Online Systemlogistik (OSL) is bolstering its presence in the Rhine-Main area with the addition of National Transport Service (NTS) as a system partner, effective January 1, 2026. The move aims to optimize cargo distribution and increase capacity in a region experiencing significant shipment volume.

Expanding OSL’s Reach East and South of Frankfurt

NTS, based in Mainhausen, will assume responsibility for the region east and south of Frankfurt am Main, a strategically important and economically robust area. This realignment within the general cargo network is designed to distribute responsibility more effectively and streamline operations. The first transshipment through the OSL central hub utilizing NTS’s services is scheduled for the night of January 5th-6th, 2026, marking the full integration of the new partner.

Initial Rollout and Future Expansion

To kickstart the partnership in January 2026, NTS plans to deploy three trucks on key routes. Two vehicles will service the central hub in Schlitz, while a third will focus on the southern hub in Nördlingen. Recognizing the potential for growth, NTS intends to add a fourth truck to these main routes in April 2026, further enhancing network capacity.

This expansion comes as OSL redistributes responsibilities previously held solely by Agotrans Logistik in the Frankfurt region. According to a company release, the addition of NTS will alleviate pressure on existing partners and create a more resilient network.

“Area Optimization” Driven by Regional Demand

The integration of NTS is the result of a long-term strategy to optimize OSL’s operations in the Frankfurt area. “Area optimization in the Frankfurt area has been on our agenda for a long time,” explained a senior OSL official. “The region has always been very strong in terms of incoming shipments, so the reinforcement from NTS is extremely welcome.”

For OSL, the benefits of this partnership are multifaceted: increased capacity in a high-demand area, a more granular regional structure within the Frankfurt/Main metropolitan area, and enhanced network stability to accommodate growing shipment volumes.

NTS: A Versatile Logistics Provider

Founded in 1990, National Transport Service has evolved into a comprehensive logistics provider offering a broad portfolio of services. Beyond general cargo, NTS specializes in:

  • Hazardous materials logistics
  • Food and pharmaceutical logistics
  • Industrial and commercial logistics
  • Customs services

The company boasts a substantial infrastructure, including approximately 130 employees, a fleet of 40 trucks (20 owned and 20 in fixed charter), 30,000 square meters of storage space across its Mainhausen and Rodgau locations, and 43 loading gates. NTS currently handles around 400 forwarding shipments daily, both domestically and internationally.

Impact on the OSL Network

The addition of NTS will have several key effects on the OSL network: providing relief to Agotrans Logistik, establishing a more defined regional structure focused on the area east and south of Frankfurt, strengthening connections to the Schlitz and Nördlingen hubs through dedicated routes, and creating a buffer for future growth with the planned addition of a fourth truck in April 2026.

NTS’s expertise extends beyond general cargo, positioning the company as a valuable asset to the OSL network. The company’s established infrastructure and experience in specialized logistics sectors will contribute to a more robust and versatile service offering.
