Ouagadougou: Zabré Amazons share a meal with wounded soldiers
Ouagadougou, November 17, 2024 (AIB) - Students Noëlla and Toussiane Zabré, who donated 32,500 CFA francs to the peace effort last April, gave a community meal last Sunday to the war wounded at the camp of General Aboubacar Sangoulé Lamizana, about noted by the AIB.
“The Nation needs everyone, adults and children like us, to help end terrorism. That’s why we decided to communicate with our wounded soldiers,” said Noëlla Zabré, a member of the Amazones Zabré Foundation.
For her, all Burkinabè should do their part to encourage the soldiers who fought every day for the recapture of the national territory.
Miss Zabré spoke on Sunday in Ouagadougou, during the distribution of meals organized by Zabré Amazons in favor of wounded soldiers located in the Sangoulé Lamizana camp.
“This is a way for us to awaken conscience for a general boost of patriotism,” explained Noëlla Zabré.
Meal kits along with juice were distributed to injured soldiers, in recognition of their sacrifice to protect the homeland.
Beyond this meal, the Amazones Zabré work in food aid, educational support, guidance and support in accessing social services.
As a reminder, Noëlla and Toussiane Zabré, the founders of the Amazones Zabré Foundation, are also the founders of N and T Candys, a company that focuses on selling toffees and candies in schools.
On April 11, they contributed to the peace effort up to 32,500 CFA francs, which represents 30% of their profit from this activity.

What inspired the Zabré sisters to support wounded soldiers through their humanitarian efforts?
Interview between the Time.news Editor and the Zabré Sisters on Their Humanitarian Efforts
Time.news Editor (TNE): Welcome to our special segment! Joining us today are Noëlla and Toussiane Zabré, the inspiring sisters who recently hosted a meal for wounded soldiers in Ouagadougou. Thank you for being here!
Noëlla Zabré (NZ): Thank you for having us!
TNE: Let’s start with your recent event. You donated money and organized a community meal for wounded soldiers. What motivated you to do this?
Toussiane Zabré (TZ): We have always believed in the power of community and compassion. When we heard about the struggles faced by soldiers in our region, we felt compelled to help in any way we could. It was not just about the money; we wanted to show our support and solidarity.
TNE: That’s truly admirable! How did you go about organizing the meal?
NZ: We reached out to local businesses and suppliers for donations of food and supplies. With the financial contribution we made earlier this year—32,500 CFA francs—we managed to prepare a meal that everyone could enjoy. We wanted it to be a moment of joy and healing.
TNE: I imagine that planning such an event must have its challenges. What were some obstacles you faced?
TZ: Absolutely! Coordinating with different people from various organizations can be tricky. There’s always the worry about whether we will have enough resources or volunteers. But seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces made everything worthwhile.
TNE: That resonates with the idea of building community. How did the soldiers and other attendees respond to the meal?
NZ: The response was overwhelmingly positive! Many of the soldiers expressed their gratitude, not just for the meal but for the support from our generation. It meant a lot to us to see them happy and hopeful.
TNE: You mentioned earlier that you believe everyone has a role to play in ending terror. Can you elaborate on that perspective?
TZ: We believe that every act of kindness, no matter how small, contributes to creating a peaceful society. It’s not just adults who can make a difference; even young people like us can help. Encouraging empathy and solidarity among our peers can spark a larger movement.
TNE: It’s heartening to hear your passion for peace and community! What do you hope to achieve through your future initiatives?
NZ: We hope to continue raising awareness and organizing more events. Our dream is to inspire more youth to take action, whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading kindness.
TNE: Fantastic! Lastly, what message would you like to share with our readers who may want to get involved in similar humanitarian efforts?
TZ: We want to encourage everyone to look for opportunities within their communities to help others. It might seem daunting, but even the smallest contributions can have a massive impact.
TNE: Thank you both for your time and for the incredible work you’re doing! Your actions are inspiring others to make a difference.
NZ: Thank you for having us! Let’s all work together for a better future.
TNE: Indeed! We look forward to seeing what you’ll accomplish next.
