«We want to see how close we are to this Padua». Thus Stefano Vecchi in presenting the highly anticipated match at Euganeo (kick-off at 8.45pm). For the “new” Vicenza, tonight’s match is undoubtedly the toughest test since Vecchi sat on the red and white bench. On the one hand, Lane is back from five victories in a row, on the other, Padova has scored four and is (legitimately) still dreaming of first place.
No surprises in the red and white house regarding the starting eleven. The trio formed by Cuomo, Golemic and Sandon was confirmed in front of Confente. De Col is back as the starter on the right lane (Talarico, not at his best, on the bench), in midfield next to the great former Ronaldo (highly anticipated) is Tronchin, while the left wing will be manned by the usual Costa. Della Morte in attack behind the Rolfini-Ferrari pair.
1,400 red and white fans supported Vecchi’s team at the Euganeo. For the first 10 minutes during the race, however, silence will reign in the stands. The ultras of the Curva Sud, in fact, have decided to respect the initiative of the home ultras who they will remain silent as a sign of protest for the recent Daspo that hit the Biancoscuda fans. «We will start the match in the stands when we also have opponents to compete with – Curva Sud writes in a note -. For the rest of the match, however, it will be obligatory to support our team and our colors until exhaustion, returning home without a voice.
