Palani in Dindigul district is one of the important sacrificial houses of Lord Murugan. The most famous Panguni Uttarad festival held here started on March 12 with the flag hoisting at the Thiruavinankudik Temple, the Third Battalion.

Every day, a wake-up call is held at Swami Thanthap Pallak. In the evening Swami wakes up in the vehicles of Silver Elephant, Lamb, Camden and Goldilocks. A large number of devotees paid their dues, including Tirtha Kavadi.

On the sixth day of the Panguni Uttarad festival, a wedding ceremony was held for Valli Devasena Sameda Muthukumara Swami. The wedding was attended by a large number of devotees not only from Dindigul but from all over Tamil Nadu. Following this, a procession took place on Giri Road in a silver chariot at Swami Tirukkalyana Kolam. An event was held this morning to present the Awakening Theertham to the Tirthawari. Following this, Swami arose on the platform given to Thiruavinankudi. The Panguni Uttar Pradesh election started at 4.45 pm.

Due to the floods, a large number of devotees from Theni, Dindigul, Madurai and Sivagangai districts gathered in Palani. Devotees who came on foot carrying Kavadi went to the streets of Kiriwala enthusiastically chanting the Arogara slogan and worshiping Lord Murugan. The election is taking place tonight at Thangapalle. The Panguni Order Festival is set to conclude on March 21 with the unfurling of the flag.
