Kumbakonam Sarangapani Temple Panguni Order Festival started on Thursday with flag hoisting.
The annual Panguni Uttara Perun festival is celebrated at the Kumbakonam Sarangapani Temple, which is revered as the planet Vaikundam and is one of the 108 Divine Lands. The event kicked off on Thursday with flag hoisting.
Earlier, special poojas were conducted for the flag tree and the flag engraved with Karutazhva was hoisted. On the following festival days, in the morning and in the evening, Perumal and his mother will take a street walk in various vehicles.
On March 18, the day of the Panguni Order, the Ratharohanam (Small Do) will depart at 8.30 am, followed by the Tittavari at 12 noon and the Tirukkalyanam on the 21st.
