The Legends League T20 series, featuring former players who have retired from international cricket, started today. India Maharajas and World Giants are playing in today’s first match.

World Giants won the toss and elected to bat in this ongoing match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

India Maharajas Team:

Virender Sehwag, Srivastava, Parthiv Patel (wicket keeper), Mohammad Kaif, Manvinder Bisla, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh (captain), Joginder Sharma, Pankaj Singh, Sreesanth, Ashok Dinda.

World Giants Team:

Kevin O’Brien, Hamilton Masakadza, Jacques Kallis (captain), Dinesh Ramdin (wicket keeper), Thisara Perera, Taibu, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Daniel Vettori, Tim Bresnan, Mandy Panesar, Fidel Edwards, Muttiah Muralitharan.

Batting first, World Giants opener Kevin O’Brien scored his half-century in the same manner as he did during his playing days. Kevin scored 52 runs in 31 balls. Captain Jacques Kallis was disappointing as he scored just 12 runs off 14 balls.

Dinesh Ramdin, who played aggressively, scored 42 runs in 29 balls and remained unbeaten till the end. Thisara Perera scored 23 runs off 16 balls. After that, the World Giants team, who accumulated 170 runs in 20 overs, set a challenging target of 171 runs for India Maharajas.

Pankaj Singh, who bowled tremendously on behalf of the Indian team, conceded only 26 runs in 4 overs and took 5 wickets. Kevin O’Brien smashes Sreesanth’s bowling. Sreesanth scored 43 runs in 3 overs without losing a single wicket.
